You must be a resident of Australia to purchase insurance with 1Cover. Australian Residents who are eligible for full Medicare benefits (not including Reciprocal Health Care Agreements) can purchase a 1Cover plan provided that you purchase the policy before your journey commences (unless you purchase an Already Overseas policy) and your journey ends in Australia on the end date shown on your certificate of insurance.
To be eligible to purchase a policy, you must meet our whole policy definition of an Australian Resident below:
'Australian Resident' means an Australian Citizen; a holder of a current and valid Australian permanent resident visa, partner/spouse visa or Australian skilled migrant visa (including 457 and temporary Skilled Shortage but excluding working holiday visa; New Zealand passport holder permanently residing in Australia;
a) with unrestricted right of entry into Australia;
b) with access to Medicare (not including Reciprocal Health Care Agreements);
c) who has a permanent Australian Residential address; and
d) who agrees to be repatriated, if required, back to Australia under this insurance.
Age Limits
Comprehensive: Travellers of all ages
Medical Only: Travellers aged 74 and under
Domestic: Travellers of all ages
Already Overseas: Travellers aged 64 and under
Frequent Traveller: Travellers aged 64 and under
