Is My Bicycle Covered Under The Policy?

We have a Bicycle Pack that is avaliable to add on to a Comprehensive, Domestic and Frequent Traveller policies. We will only provide cover for bicycles if this option is selected at the time of purchase and it is shown on the certificate of insurance. No cover is provided for bicycles or bicycle accesories under Luggage and Personal Effects.

The Bicycle Pack only covers bicycles if, at the time the certificate of insurance is issued, they are: 

- less than three (3) years old; and 

- valued at $1,500 or more; and 

- free of defects. 

The maximum amount we will pay for any one bicycle is $5,000 and $15,000 for all Bicycle Pack claims combined. 

Pairs or related sets of items are considered as only one item and a sub-limit of $750 applies to all bicycle accessories (including but not limited to bicycle pumps, helmets, lights, pedals, tools, etc.) combined. 

If you are involved in an accident whilst cycling, we advise that you or a member of your travelling party call our medical assistance team as soon as possible. Our medical team will liaise with the treating hospital, and if you are covered, may provide written guarantees of payment (where possible) for reasonable expenses (subject to your claim being approved).

If you are covered and approved for medical evacuation, they will arrange this, if evacuation is deemed necessary.
