Need travel insurance but you've already left Australia? Don’t stress. If you’re an Australian resident, you can purchase an Already Overseas policy - travel insurance for those already abroad. Please note: there is no cover provided for the first 72 hours from the start date of your Certificate of Insurance.
An Already Overseas travel insurance policy offers the same benefits as an Overseas Comprehensive Policy. The only difference is that you must be overseas when you purchase because the policy is designed for travellers who've forgotten to buy insurance before they left, or forgot to extend an existing policy and now need to purchase more travel insurance. You must also be aged under 69 years to be eligible.
It's important to note that there is no cover provided under any section of the policy for the first 72 hours from the start date on your Certificate of Insurance. Other exclusions apply. Please read the PDS for details.

If you're overseas and realise you don’t have travel insurance, you can still buy 1Cover’s Already Overseas Travel Insurance online. It’s available to Australian residents within five days of leaving home or a previous policy ending.
You can get travel insurance already abroad up to five days after departure or policy expiry. Just remember: a 72-hour waiting period applies from your cover start date.
